We purchased our first Irish Setter in Ireland in August 1976 "Pegwood
Chestnut Haze" who won well at Open Shows followed by "Pegwood Red Williow" from the same kennel who won all over
Ireland and twice won
Best In Show at the Irish Red Setter Club of Ireland Championship Show.
Our longing for a beautiful Irish Setter bitch took us to Northampton to the
world famous Wendover Kennel
owned by the late Mr & Mrs L C James where we bought our lovely puppy "Wendover
Royal Fanfare (Kerry) in
March 1980. She was a daughter of Sh Ch Wendover Maid Marion. Kerry gave us much
pleasure at home and
in the show ring and provided us our first litter of puppies when she was mated
to Marrona Messenger in 1983.

Our best known Irish Setter was UK & Irish Ch Reddins Fintan of Riqitta bred by
Mr & Mrs J S F Smith, a son of
Sh Ch Kerryfair Night Fever who was Top Stud Dog (all breeds) between 1987-
1991.

Fintan became an Irish Champion before the age of two years. He qualified in the
field to give him his full Champion title. He subsequently gained his English title the following year. In February
1988 he won the Challenge Certificate
and won Best Irish Setter Dog at Crufts. During his career he won 9 Challenge
Certificates and 6 Reserve Challenge Certificates,
7 Green Stars,
4 Best In Shows and 3 Gundog Groups at Championship Shows. He
was a super show dog but most of all a wonderful companion and much loved member of our
family.

In 1993 we purchased our delightful "Caspians Faith at Riqitta" (Hannah)
Sire: Sh Ch Danaway Debonair x
Sh Ch Caspians Night Music from Mr & Mrs M J Oakley who is the foundation bitch
of our current line. She is litter sister to Sh Ch Caspians Intrepid winner of 77 Challenge Certificates and
Best In Show at Crufts 1999. He is also the current Breed Record holder.
Sh Ch Danaway Debonair was Best In Show at Crufts 1993 and Sh Ch Caspians Night
Music was Top Brood
Bitch in Breed 1995-2001
